Application on Bucket Elevator

In cement production enterprises, a large number of equipment such as belt conveyors and stacker-reclaimers are widely used, and these devices adopt traditional fluid couplings. A fluid coupling is a hydrodynamic transmission device that transfers energy relying on the kinetic energy of its internal oil. It takes liquid oil as the working medium, converts mechanical energy and liquid kinetic energy into each other through the pump impeller and turbine, thereby connecting the prime mover and working machinery to realize power transmission. However, during operation, it features complicated installation and disassembly, high alignment precision requirements and large vibration values, bringing much inconvenience to daily operation and maintenance. In particular, for fluid couplings equipped with brake wheels, the middle elastic spider part is extremely prone to damage, and each replacement is laborious and time-consuming.

Through dedicated research and development, Wofu Permanent Magnet Company has developed a permanent magnet coupling that can easily solve these problems. The transmission technology of Wofu permanent magnet coupling is a revolutionary transmission device that transmits torque through air gaps. There is no mechanical connection between the rotating shafts of the motor and load equipment. When the motor rotates, it drives the driving conductor rotor to cut magnetic lines of force in the strong magnetic field generated by the driven disk rotor equipped with high-power rare-earth magnets, thus generating eddy current in the conductor disk. This eddy current creates an induced magnetic field on the driving conductor rotor. The magnetic attraction and repulsion between the induced magnetic field and the permanent magnetic field drive the driven rotor to rotate, realizing torque transmission between the motor and the load.

A diaphragm coupling is adopted between the permanent magnetic coupling and the brake wheel. The diaphragm coupling consists of several groups of diaphragms (thin stainless steel sheets) alternately connected to the two half couplings by bolts. Each group of diaphragms is stacked with multiple sheets, and the diaphragms are divided into link type and integral type with different shapes. By virtue of the elastic deformation of diaphragms, the diaphragm coupling compensates for the relative displacement between the two connected shafts, making it a high-performance flexible coupling with rigid metal components.

Main characteristics of the diaphragm coupling:

1. It has a strong capability to compensate for misalignment of two shaft lines. Compared with gear couplings, its angular displacement can be doubled. It generates small reaction force under radial displacement and features great flexibility, allowing certain axial, radial and angular displacements.

2. It provides obvious damping effect with no noise and no wear.

3. It can operate at high temperatures ranging from -80℃ to 300℃ and in harsh environments, and run safely under impact and vibration conditions.

4. It boasts high transmission efficiency up to 99.86%, making it especially suitable for medium, high-speed and high-power transmission.

5. It features simple structure, light weight, small size and easy assembly and disassembly. The type with an intermediate shaft can be assembled and disassembled without moving the equipment and requires no lubrication.

The specially designed Drag permanent magnetic coupling will bring more convenience to industrial production.
